Last week, ASUS announced its third-generation gaming phone — the ROG Phone 3. And sure enough, it packs all the features you can expect from a beastly device. But one of the most anticipated upgrades is the display. ASUS made the jump to 144Hz, making it one of the fastest phones around. But thanks to a hidden feature that further unlocks the capability of the phone, as discovered by XDA Developer, the ROG Phone 3 comfortably hits 160Hz with one ADB command.

How to enable 160Hz in ASUS ROG Phone 3?

XDA saw the hidden 160Hz mode that’s activated by a debug command. Provided it took them going through lines of codes to discover the features, it’s safe to say that ASUS might be looking to unlock or test 160Hz for future devices. Assuming you have ADB setup on your PC, all you need to do is to run this command:

adb shell setprop debug.vendor.asus.fps.eng 1

After that, reboot the ROG Phone 3. In Settings, under Display -> Refresh Rate, there will be a 160Hz option. According to XDA, the display is indeed running at 160Hz. Voila! You now have the fastest smartphone in the world. But do take note that you may encounter some problems along the way, provided that ASUS has not made the feature accessible to all.
