Disable iPhone Silent Mode

You can use the phone’s physical switch or an option in the Settings app to turn off silent mode and get your iPhone back to ring mode. We’ll show you how to turn off silent mode both ways. Disable iPhone Silent Mode

The physical Ring/Silent switch is the easiest way to turn off silent mode. If the switch is not working or is broken, you can turn off silent mode through the Settings app. And if the physical button on your phone is stuck on silent mode, you can change it back to ring mode by going to Settings.

READ:

Using Switch

  • You may toggle a little switch on the left side of your iPhone between the ring and silence modes.
  • If your iPhone is silent, you will see an orange behind this switch.
  • To turn off silent mode and turn on ring mode, flip this switch once to make the orange hue disappear.
  • You’re ready to go now that your iPhone is in ring mode. Disable iPhone Silent Mode

Using Settings

  • If you can’t turn off silent mode with the physical switch, you can use a setting in Settings to switch back to ring mode.
  • First, open the app called “Settings” on your iPhone. Tap “Accessibility” in the Settings menu. Tap “General” and then “Accessibility” if you don’t see this option.
  • Click on “AssistiveTouch.”
  • You should turn on AssistiveTouch.
  • You will now see a gray box on the screen of your iPhone. This box has a switch that lets you turn your phone’s silent mode on and off. Tap the box to show that option.
  • Tap “Device” in the menu that comes up.
  • Tap “Unmute” in the “Device” menu to turn off the silent mode on your iPhone.
  • Your iPhone is now no longer on silent. You can now close the box and, if you want, turn off AssistiveTouch.

Guide for First-Time iPhone Users

Use Shortcut

Tap the back two or three times to enable and turn off silent mode on an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 14 or later. Setting > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap and selecting an option activates this feature.

On older iPhones, tapping the AssistiveTouch symbol toggles the silent mode. Visit Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch and tap “Single-Tap,” “Double-Tap,” or “Long Press,” depending on your preference. Choose “Mute.”

That’s how you quickly exit iPhone silent mode. Easy, right?
