HONOR Magic8 RSR Set to Launch on Jan. 19

HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design

HONOR has teased a new ultra-premium smartphone, the HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design.

The first sign came from HONOR R&D engineer Cao Gong, who shared a Weibo post suggesting he is testing a new device.

The post was later reposted by HONOR Performance Optimization R&D engineer A Yong, who confirmed the HONOR Magic 8 RSR name.

This suggests the phone is already in advanced testing. Reports indicate it will sit above the Magic 8 Pro, serving as HONOR’s top-tier flagship for the year with a focus on design, performance, and imaging.

One key difference is its design. As the name implies, the phone is co-developed with Porsche Design. The collaboration is expected to give the Magic 8 RSR a distinct look.

The device will feature a 6.71-inch 1.5K LTPO display and a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50R LOFIC main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and up to 110dB dynamic range.

The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and may offer up to 24GB of RAM.

It is also tipped to pack a 7,200mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging, along with wireless charging support. Other reported features include satellite connectivity, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, and 3D face recognition for added security.

HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design Launch in China

The HONOR Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is expected to debut in China on January 19, alongside the Magic 8 Pro Air.
