Google Wallet is now officially available in the Philippines.
With this new update, Android and Wear OS users have a secure and convenient way to store payment cards and digital items such as loyalty cards, boarding passes, tickets, and vouchers.
Cardholders from participating banks can add their VISA or Mastercard cards to Google Wallet and use them for contactless payments in stores, as well as for online and in-app purchases wherever the Google Pay button is supported, including Shopee.

In short, Google Wallet serves as a digital container for items typically kept in a physical wallet.
When users tap to pay or check out online, the transaction is processed through Google Pay. Supported payment service providers will also allow online merchants to offer faster and more secure checkout using Google Pay.
Other than that, travelers can store boarding passes from Philippine Airlines, AirAsia, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, and other partner carriers.

Google Wallet will also display updates such as departure or gate changes. It can be used for secure tap-to-pay transactions abroad wherever contactless payments are accepted.
It doesn’t end there because users can also store event tickets, cinema tickets, loyalty cards, digital vouchers, and compatible digital car keys. IKEA Family memberships and Mang Inasal vouchers can already be added.

NOTE: If you don’t see the Add to Google Wallet button, check your confirmation email or the booking app, and look under menus like Share, Save, or More options.

The Google Wallet app is now available for download from the Google Play Store and works only on Android phones with NFC enabled.
