Google Rolls Out Android 16 Beta 3

Google has officially released Android 16 Beta 3, moving closer to the final stable version.

Android 16 Beta 3 brings some important changes for developers, like stricter JobScheduler rules, better security for Intents, support for 16KB Page Size, the removal of edge-to-edge UI opt-out, and improved Bluetooth connection handling.

A big Android 16 update is coming in Q2 2025 with major changes, followed by a smaller update in Q4 2025 with fixes and improvements.

Developers can try Beta 3 on Pixel devices or an emulator in Android Studio and share feedback to help improve the final version.

  • Auracast Broadcast Audio – Pixel 9 devices now support direct audio streaming to LE Audio hearing aids and earbuds.
  • Outline Text for Accessibility – Improves text contrast for users with low vision.
  • Local Network Protection Testing – Apps will need permission to access local networks in a future release. Developers can test this feature now.

Android 16 Beta 3 Rollout

According to Google’s timeline, the stable update could arrive as early as May or June, with Pixel devices expected to be among the first to receive it.
