C5 Link Segment 2 Construction Set to Commence

The construction of the C5 Link Segment 2 is set to begin soon, according to a news release by the Manila Toll Expressway Systems, Inc. (MATES). This infrastructure project aims to connect Cavitex in Cavite to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Balintawak, Quezon City, providing an alternative route that bypasses the congested Metro Manila area.

Phase 1 of the C5 Link Expressway, which covers the Cavitex to C5 section, was completed in 2019. Phase 2, which covers the C5 to NLEX section, will be completed by 2022.

The C5 Link Segment 2 will consist of a 5.65-kilometer, four-lane expressway with two interchanges in Taguig and Pasig. This segment will also feature a two-kilometer elevated toll road passing through the Pasig River, providing an alternative route to the heavily congested EDSA.
