Check If You’re Eligible for DOLE’s Financial Support Program

It’s only been a week since coronavirus was declared to be pandemic. Within that short span of time, places were put on quarantine with some being placed on lockdown, regular service of business establishments being suspended, and halting the majority of essential day-to-day jobs. With that said, a lot of people, especially those who live from paycheck to paycheck, has been affected tremendously. If you’re one of the affected workers in the country, then you might be eligible for the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) financial support program.

Issued March 17, 2020, the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP), if eligible, will provide one-time financial relief of P5,000 to affected workers in lump sum, non-conditional, regardless of employment status. To be specific, the assistance program covers private establishments that have implemented Flexible Work Arrangements (FWAs) as defined under DOLE Labor Advisory No. 09, Series of 2020 (i.e. reduction of work hours/workdays, rotation of workers, forced leave,) or temporary closure as mitigating measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program also includes suspended workers by reason of the suspension of operations of the employer’s business establishment.  Government workers are excluded from this program.

The requirements below are to be submitted by the company you’re working for:

  1. The company must be a private establishment that has implemented FWAs or temporary closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. Your company must submit the following requirements:
    • a) An Establishment Report on the COVID-19 pursuant with Labor Advisory No.9, Series of 2020
    • b) Company payroll for the month before the implementation of the FWAs or temporary closure
  3. Your company must submit the application through DOLE’s email or any DOLE Regional Office or any of its provincial/field offices.
  4. DOLE will then evaluate the application within three (3) working days.
  5. DOLE will send an email to the company if the application is approved (Notice of Approval) or denied (Notice of Denial).

Assuming the application went smoothly, the concerned DOLE Regional Office will issue the financial support directly to the beneficiary’s payroll account through bank transfer within two (2) weeks upon receipt. Do take note that DOLE can still deny an application upon determination of any of the following grounds:

  • ineligibility of applicant;
  • misrepresentation of facts in the application; or
  • submission of falsified or tampered documents.
