Huawei is launching a new budget phone early this 2019 called the Honor Play 8A for a $120 base model price or roughly P6,000 Philippine pesos before taxes. The Honor Play 8A is already available for pre-order in China and will be released soon in other regions to compete against the Xiaomi Mi Play and Oppo Realme C1.

The Huawei Honor Play 8A features a 6-inch teardrop notched display in HD+ resolution. Its 8MP front camera serves as a Face Unlock because it lacks a fingerprint sensor. On the other side is a lone 13MP rear shooter. Understandably, there is a missing depth or bokeh sensor to complete the dual camera set up at the back.
Powering the Honor Play 8A is a Mediatek Helio P35 octa-core processor that could support several games including PUBG, Mobile Legends, and more in medium graphics settings. The CPU is paired by a 3GB RAM and either 32GB or 64GB expandable storage.
Surprisingly, you can charge the 3000 mAh battery with standard Fast Charge method, thanks to the USB Type-C port.
Available this 2nd week of January in China for $120 base model SRP or P6,000+ before taxes, the Honor Play 8A will soon launch in other markets including the Philippines, India, Indonesia, and more.
