Days before the local release of Zenfone Max Pro M2, Russia gets the first dibs by launching the battery-king device. Compared to the previous iteration — the Zenfone Max Pro M1, is it now a capable device for 2019?

The biggest difference between the two comes down to the design – from all-aluminum, the Max Pro M2 goes aluminum and glass as a design refresh complete with the notch. However, that paved the way for a larger 6.3-inches display.
While nothing has changed in terms of display quality, you might notice better performance on the new device thanks to its slightly better Snapdragon 660 paired with 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage.
For the cameras, we’re still seeing the same 13MP + 5MP dual main setup while the front camera gets upgraded from 8MP to 13MP.
We would love if only Asus bumped the battery capacity a little bit above 5000mAh for longer runtime. Another bummer is they continue to use a micro USB support here.
The Zenfone Max Pro M2 is priced at Php13,995 upon official release while the Max Pro M1 is now at Php8,995(originally Php9,995).
Despite the differences between the two, the Max Pro M1 still looks a decent buy especially when you’re in a budget and just looking to stay connected all day.
