Xiaomi is scheduled to launch a new selfie-centric smartphone in India on June 7. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch the Redmi Y2. It is the rebranded model of the Redmi S2, which was recently launched in China.
The Redmi Y2 is expected to house a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440 × 720 pixels resolution. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The 3GB RAM model will be coupled with a 32GB native storage, while the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB internal storage.
Going to its optics, it might sport a 12MP rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor. For taking selfies, it will arrive with a 16MP snapper with an LED flash.
Furthermore, it is expected to come with AI-based features. It will be running on Xiaomi’s own MIUI based on Android Oreo and will be fueled by a 3,080mAh battery pack.
