Grab has announced that they will start rolling out a new feature on April 27, Friday. The new feature will hide a passenger’s destination from the driver upon booking. This was done in order to decrease the number of trip cancellations.
Before rolling out the feature to all Grab drivers, the company will roll it out to a small part of Grab drivers with low acceptance rates. Brian Cu, Grab Philippines country head, stated that he expects fewer trip cancellations once the new feature rolls out.
The new feature will also require its user to provide their complete and correct account information.
Last week, Grab has already given penalties to around 500 drivers after receiving complaints of canceled bookings. In lieu of this, Brian Cu has promised that they will improve Grab’s services from here on out.
“We see every post and complaint. We apologize that our services fell short,” Cu mentioned. “We have rolled out additional and stricter measures to address issues on cancellations and this is just the start. We promise to improve to provide the quality of service our passengers deserve.”
