Last 2021, MediaTek officially unveiled the Dimensity 9000 SoC, the world’s first 5G chipset based on TSMC’s 4 nm process technology with lower power consumption and higher performance.
In terms of technical specifications, the Dimensity 9000 processor still uses a three-cluster architecture, including a 3.05GHz Cortex-X2, three 2.85GHz Cortex-A710 at 2.85GHz, and four small Cortex-A510 at 1.8GHz.
In terms of cache memory, the X2 core has 2MB of L512 cache, the big core has 256KB of L8 cache, and the small core has 6KB of L35 cache, as well as 37MB of tertiary cache and 710MB of system cache. As a result, processor performance has officially increased by 10% and power consumption by 35%. Part of the GPU is the Mali-G710, which improves performance by 35% and energy efficiency by 60%.
After the release of MediaTek Dimensity 9000, only the OPPO Find X5 Pro smartphone uses the chipset. However, some brands are taking the steps and will use this flagship SoC. Let us take a look below.
OPPO took many people by surprise by announcing a new variant of the Find X5 Pro last February 25. According to the manufacturer, consumers in China will soon be able to purchase the device with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor.
We have the same 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with variable refresh rate, and the configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage by default. However, the brand itself claims that the MediaTek platform should make the Find X5 Pro without the support for the MariSilicon X imaging chip and the color calibration developed by Hasselblad.
Announced only in the Chinese market, the new Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition is expected to be sold in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White colors. The official price is CNY 5,799, or around ~PHP 46,980 in direct conversion.
