Blizzard Entertainment is currently developing a new Warcraft mobile game, which will be released this year. The announcement was made at Activision Blizzard’s Q4 2021 financial results statement, which is currently owned by Microsoft. However, there is no information on whether the game will be an RTS (real-time strategy) or an MMORPG, or possibly a trading card game like Hearthstone. But, since Hearthstone has been available on smartphones since 2014, it is less likely to be a turn-based card game.
Moreover, Blizzard is continuing to work on World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, and Overwatch 2, and there are rumors that Blizzard is developing an AR-based game similar to Pokémon GO. They have stated that they want Warcraft content to attract Warcraft fans to mobile games, so the AR-based game might be only one of them.
Whatever Blizzard is cooking up will undoubtedly be an entertaining game, as we know Blizzard Entertainment offers a plethora of amazing games to play on PC, like World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. They should also learn from the announcement of the intriguing Diablo Immortal mobile game back in 2018. In addition to Warcraft, the game is planned to launch in the first half of 2022.
