Apple has released the Release Candidate (RC) version of iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 to developers and public beta testers.
The update, with build number 23E244, is expected to be the final version before the public rollout.
One of the main changes is in Apple Music. The update introduces a new “Playlist Playground” feature, which uses AI to generate playlists based on user descriptions.
A new Concerts section has also been added to help users find nearby shows and discover artists. Other additions include an Ambient Music widget with curated playlists and a tool that can identify songs even when offline, then display the results once the device reconnects.

The update also brings eight new emojis, including an orca, a trombone, and a distorted face.

Other features previously tested in this update cycle include support for third-party voice AI apps in CarPlay and end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging with Android users.
However, the expected Siri generative AI upgrades are not included, reportedly due to ongoing development issues.
The iOS 26.4 RC is now available for registered developers and public beta testers via the Software Update section in the Settings app.
