CNN Philippines’ official YouTube channel has been taken down from the video-sharing website since Monday afternoon, ostensibly due to “copyright issues.”
“This page isn’t available. Sorry about that.” When a user clicks on the channel on the website for sharing videos, an error message stating that they should look for something else displays. “Try searching for something else.”
According to a statement released by the media group on Monday, “a notice to this effect was sent to CNN Philippines early [Monday] afternoon,”
CNN Philippines issued a statement saying that it was “pursuing ways to resolve these issues so that our YouTube Channel will be back online as soon as possible.”
As of Tuesday, the channel has not been reinstated on YouTube, and the content of its videos cannot be searched for on the website that hosts videos.
The termination of CNN Philippines comes just one week after the removal of another station, SMNI News, for alleged violations of YouTube’s rules of service.
