Xiaomi Black Shark 2 launched with SD855, 12GB RAM, 48MP camera for P25k price

While Razer decided to end its mobile tenure months after the Razer Phone 2‘s release, Xiaomi sets the bar with the Black Shark 2 already looking like the best gaming phone in 2019. Featuring upgraded specs and better hardware, the price makes it even a sweeter deal overall.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 gets the Snapdragon 855 treatment that can be had up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen from Samsung, which also features an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Further, the screen is pressure-sensitive that allows mapping buttons for the left and right portion.

Diving deeper into the Black Shark 2’s hardware, there’s a larger vapor cooling chamber now for better-sustained performance. Inside houses a 4000mAh battery but with a much faster 27W charging capability. The camera gets upgrade too with 48MP + 12MP on the back and a 20MP up front.

In a typical Xiaomi gaming phone fashion, the Black Shark 2 is available in Shadow Black and a fresh-looking Frozen Silver, which I personally think should be the way to go.

For now, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is exclusive to China. The 6GB/128GB variant goes for 3,199 yuan (~Php25,000) with the 12GB/256GB setting you back at 4,199 yuan (~Php33,000).
