The first Huawei device to skip on Google services since the start of the US-Huawei trade ban is the Mate 30 series. With the Chinese company being accused of “spying” on user data and information, the lack of support from Google continued with the Huawei Nova 6 series. That said, another device is going to launch with purely Huawei Mobile Services this February 14. And it’s the Nova 7i. But according to reports, this is not going to be the start of the Nova 7 series. Instead, it’s a re-branded Nova 6 SE. It also means that the phone will sport Kirin 810 chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. You can also expect the same 48MP quad cameras with ultrawide, depth, and macro sensors.
While we already know the release date, the price of the aforementioned device is yet to be known. Since we’re expecting a re-branded device, Nova 6 SE went official in China for CNY 2,199 or around ~P16,000. That said, Nova 7i will launch in Malaysia.

If there’s a company who can release phones without google, its huawei. Kudos to them for showing us it can be done. Although this could be a double edged sword.
