TCL is launching its new smartphones for 2021 just like how it usually launches TVs for the past few years — all in one go. The highlight, however, is the affordable TCL 20 5G device that comes around €299(~Php17,400) for the 6GB/128GB model. Apparently, there’s a 256GB variant but with no official price yet. TCL 20 is competing against OnePlus Nord N10, another fellow device with the same chipset.
In the case of TCL 20, it lacks the high refresh rate for its 6.67″ IPS LCD HDR10-capable screen. There are three cameras on the back, commanded by a 48MP sensor instead of a 64MP. The other two are an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lenses. The main sensor is capable of recording up to 4K@30fps, along with EIS for better stability. On the flip end, an 8MP selfie camera is housed in a centered-pinhole cutout.
TCL 20 comes with a 4500mAh battery and supports 18W Quick Charge 4+ charging. It runs on TCL UI but is promised to receive Android 11 via OTA. But unlike most devices, the back glass panel that’s available in Gray and Blue stands out due to its unique two-toned finish.
The local presence of TCL isn’t as strong as other brands, but the company has been quietly launching and teasing its products this year. It’s only a matter of time whether the TCL 20 Series will arrive in the Philippines. European availability, on the other hand, is around the first quarter of 2021.
