A guideline that strictly addresses SIM card registration among mobile users replaces the social media aspect of House Bill No. 14.

House of Representatives

Representatives Alexander Marcos, representative of Ilocos first district, and Martin Romualdez of Leyte first district. As well as Jude Acidre and Yedda Marie Romualdez of the Tingog party list have written the mandate as part of a campaign against rising cases of text-message scams.

As a result of the influx of scams, which are only kept at bay by telcos’ active efforts, the bill argues that SIM card registration could have prevented them.
PLDT, Globe massive network buildup improves Philippines' internet state

Due to the surging complaints, Globe Blocked over 100 Million Scam Messages  and deactivated 5,670 mobile numbers.

PLDT also reported blocking 23 million messages in three days in a similar effort to Globe. Not only that but PLDT and Smart recently secured more than 600 websites.

Not to mention that these are data all accumulated from the first half of 2022!
