Globe’s mobile wallet, GCASH, has gotten approval from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) for the beta launch of GCash Overseas. This means Filipinos in Japan, Australia, and Italy can use the e-wallet with international SIM cards.

The launch of GCash overseas beta started on Thursday. Only the first 1,000 people from Japan, Australia, and Italy with international SIM cards can use GCash.
Once they’ve been verified, they can send money to their families back home for free (GCash-to-GCash), pay their bills on time, and buy load credits right away.
This year, a full launch is likely to happen.
GCash has also been stepping up its international growth by teaming up with Alipay+, a global payments platform.
Aside from GCash Overseas, it can now be used to pay in select stores in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Qatar, as well as in top European countries like the UK, France, Germany, and Italy.
