Now that Xiaomi has announced global availability for the 12s Ultra, Motorola has announced that the X30 Pro will be released as the Edge 30 Ultra worldwide. The main selling feature of the Edge 30 Ultra, just like its Chinese brother, is the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP1 sensor that takes up most of the 3-level camera hump.
The ISOCELL HP1’s 1/1.22-inch sensor allows it to capture photographs at a resolution of 12.5 megapixels with 2.56um pixels, 50 megapixels with 1.28um pixels, or 200 megapixels with 0.64um pixels. More so, the primary camera on the Edge 30 Ultra sports optical image stabilization and an f/1.95 aperture. There is also a 12-megapixel IMX663 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. A 60-megapixel OV60a camera is available for taking photos of yourself.
The 6.67-inch OLED display on this high-end Motorola phone has a 144 Hz refresh rate, 1250 nits of peak brightness, and an in-screen fingerprint reader. It runs on the newest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU and supports up to 512GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM. A 4610mAh battery with 125w wired and 50w wireless charging keeps the lights on.
With its base 8GB/128GB model priced at €900 (₱51,600), the Edge 30 Ultra is more reasonably priced than Xiaomi’s 12s Ultra, which features a 1-inch sensor.
