The only 2019 budget lineup from Moto (under Lenovo) is the recently announced Moto E6. For $150USD or roughly P7.6k, you’re getting a removable battery and splash-resistant build. The entry-level device is available in the US and (will be) in Canada.
Lenovo’s Moto E6 receives a bit of upgrade from last year’s Moto E5. For starters, the Snapdragon 435 offers 50% more performance while still being paired 16GB storage and 2GB RAM. It runs on near-stock Android 9 Pie, meaning, it doesn’t come with bloatware or ad-on that might slow down the device. The camera remains to be a 13MP f2.0 lens on the back and 5MP f.20 on the front. But we do expect better post-processing from the company.
While the overall build is made of plastic shell, Moto is adding splash-resistance here via P2i water-repellent nano-coating — that is despite the removable cover for the 3000mAh battery — which also happens to be a massive downgrade from 4000mAh just to get you to spend more. As for the rest, you got your headphone jack. Since there’s no fingerprint scanner, we are assuming it’s using face unlock.
While it’s almost sure that Moto E6 won’t launch in the Philippines, even if it did, it’s going to face a very steep competition against the likes of Realme, Xiaomi, and even Samsung.
