ikotMNL App Will Support LRT-2 Starting Next Year

Thanks to a new partnership between Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) and Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), as early as the first quarter of 2021, LRT-2 passengers will be able to enjoy the benefits provided by ikotMNL app, the first railway and tourism app in the Philippines.

Launched back in November 2019, ikotMNL provides LRT-1 passengers train arrivals and departures, fare information, station crowd monitoring, tourism content, safety reminders, passenger advisories, news and announcements, a chatbox for customer service assistance, and a feedback form to help improve train service and passenger experience.

Practically speaking, it’s the dream app of every LRT rider. Last July, the app added two features, the first is contact tracing via Bluetooth LE technology, and the second is the integration of Sakay.ph

app for a better commute experience in the metro by taking LRT-1 along with other modes of transport, including walking.

After the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement on 10 December 2020, the next stop is to roll out the features to LRT-2 passengers by the first quarter of 2021.
