Huawei has released a new system update for the Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro. To be more specific, the devices received an EMUI 8.0 update. This enables the smartphones to feature Face Unlock as well as other new features.
Aside from the Face Unlock feature, the two devices now support a few gesture-based controls such as raising the screen, etc. A gaming assistant has also been added to the list of features. In order to address the recent problem with the WeChat’s application where users received delayed messages, the new update arrived with some bug fixes as well.
In addition, this new update has optimized icons for some applications. The update measures around 514MB and arrives with the latest Android security patch. Huawei has stated that the update has already rolled out to the Mate 9 Full Netcom Edition, the Mate 9 Netcom Mobile Customized Edition, and the Mate 9 Pro Full Netcom Edition, including its Porsche Design Edition.
