Aside from the Galaxy A50s and A30s, Samsung also announced A10s. The A10, which is currently the cheapest smartphone of the company, now comes with better features. Let’s check each one of them.
Advantages of Galaxy A10s

Unlike the Galaxy A50s and A30s, the A10s receives no design overhaul. Instead, the gold color is swapped out for a green color. Also, there’s a capacitive fingerprint scanner on the back now. While face unlock is still an option, that’s still less secure than fingerprint biometrics.

From Samsung Exynos 7884, the A10s is now using Helio P22. And before you comment on MediaTek’s SoC, it’s actually faster and more efficient than Samsung’s Exynos chipset. Which means the process node is now smaller at 12nm vs 14nm. You can also expect better graphics performance, but not a lot. Storage-wise, 2GB and 32GB are decent enough to get you by.
You can now expect better portrait photos out of the A10s, thanks to the addition of a 2MP f2.4 depth sensor. However, the main sensor is still the same 13MP with just a larger f1.8 aperture for better low-light photos. The selfie camera gets a slight upgrade, too, switching from 5MP to 8MP f2.0 aperture.
We also love the fact that Samsung made the battery larger than ever at 4000mAh. This is a big boost from 3400mAh. Although you’re stuck with 10W charger, you don’t need to worry about running low on battery during the end of the day.
The Galaxy A10s was first introduced before the Galaxy A50s and A30s. By releasing a refreshed lineup, the company is trying to say afloat amidst the saturated budget competition. While the upgrades were necessary, we felt like it’s still not enough when you have Realme and Xiaomi as your competition. Nevertheless, Samsung’s budget phones in 2019 are just better now.
