Along with the Chang’e-3 moon lander, the Jade Rabbit or China’s first moon rover have landed the moon in October 2013. But after 2 years of service, the Chinese government has officially declared the Jade Rabbit dead while Chang’e is still on service with its telescope.
Aside from providing and helping vital scientific data for lunar geologists and scientists, the China’s moon rabbit has also claimed a title for the longest operating hours on the moon.
China is also the third country in the world to touched down on the moon after Russia and the USA.
The Chinese government is planning to go back in the moon with the 2nd lander in 2017.
On the other hand, the Philippines’ first satellite or the Diwata-1 was successfully launched into orbit earlier this year and already made some buzz with its imagery topping the US counterpart.
