Xiaomi India didn’t waste time announcing its best mid-range phone yet, opening the event with the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. In case you didn’t know, it’s the top model among the Redmi Note 10 Series. Without further ado, let’s dive into the three devices.
Redmi Note 10 Pro Max introduces the first 108MP sensor on a Redmi device. The Samsung HM2 3rd-gen sensor features Smart ISO and Night Mode 2.0 for crisper and brighter shots at any given time. Additionally, there’s the popular VLOG mode, Magic Clone Mode, Dual-Video, and Long-Exposure Mode. Xiaomi also touts the new 5MP Super Macro lens that can capture subjects 2x closer than the predecessor. For the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera in one of the smallest pinhole cutouts out there and supports the Night Mode selfie as well.
The rumors have been accurate leading up to the launch of the Redmi Note 10 Series as the Pro Max comes equipped with 120Hz Super AMOLED with thin bezels all around. Xiaomi claims the display can reach up to 1200nits, almost as bright as the iPhone 12 Pro. And yes, it includes DCI-P3 100% and HDR10 playback. Finally, 120Hz is now paired with the Super AMOLED.
The new design of the Redmi Note 10 Series is called Evol.Design (which is basically love spelled backward). Vintage Bronze, Glacial Blue, and Dark Knight are the official colors of the devices. They feature frosted glass for a non-slippery, anti-fingerprint experience. The glass back curves to the side, but the fingerprint scanner is on the right-hand side with a double-tap gesture to boot. Xiaomi also boasts the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max clocking in at 8.11mm and 192g.
Performance-wise, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max sports the Snapdragon 732G which is an incremental upgrade over the Snapdragon 720G on the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. It’s paired with up to 8GB RAM, up to 128GB storage, along with support for expandable storage via a dedicated microSD slot. Lastly, the phone runs on MIUI 12, with MIUI 12.5 update already in the works.
No changes in the battery capacity as the same 5020mAH with 33 fast charging in the box is here.
Redmi Note 10 Pro Max comes with a starting price of INR18,999(~Php12,600) for the 6GB/64GB. The 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB are priced at INR19,999(~Php13,300) and INR21,999(~Php14,700), respectively.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro offers nearly the same package as the Pro Max. In fact, it also comes in the same set of colors, haptic motor, and chipset. However, the 108MP main camera is swapped out for a 64MP sensor.
Redmi Note 10 Pro is priced at INR15,999(~Php10,600), INR16,999(~Php11,300), and INR18,999(~Php12,600) for the same configurations.
In the case of Redmi Note 10, it comes in Aqua Green, Frost White, and Shadow Black. The design on the back also sports the new Evol.Design and the side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Though the display comes with a slightly smaller 6.43″ Super AMOLED display — protected by Gorilla Glass 3 — the refresh rate is stuck at 60Hz (180Hz touch rate). On the flip end, Xiaomi claims 1100 nits of peak brightness while supporting DCI-P3 100% color.
The offered package of Redmi Note 10 doesn’t differ a lot from the two devices, except for the Snapdragon 678 and cameras.
The latest chipset is less fast than the 732G but boasts battery efficiency. Based on Xiaomi’s Antutu scores, the 678 is slightly faster than the Helio G80. Xiaomi is pairing the chip with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.2 expandable storage.
Camera-wise, a 48MP Sony sensor commands the back, along with 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro lenses, while the front houses a 13MP sensor.
The Redmi Note 10 starts at INR11,999(~Php8,000) for the 4GB/64GB, while the 6GB/128GB for INR 13,999(~Php9,300).
Sales for the Redmi Note 10 starts on March 16th, 17th for the Note 10 Pro, and 18th for the Note 10 Pro Max in India via Mi.com.
For those waiting for the global launch, you can watch the event later at 8 PM, PHT.
