OPPO has finally confirmed the existence of its brand-new flagship phone, the A97, which has recently been spotted in a few leaks.
All the features of the OPPO A97 are precisely what one should expect from a modern mid-range smartphone, especially for one in this price range.
In terms of power, it is equipped with one of the market’s most commonly used octa-core processors, the MediaTek Dimensity 810. One of the most striking aspects of the phone is the generous 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This easily outshined most competitors’ 8GB/128GB setup.
Despite not being an AMOLED panel, the screen on this device is large and sharp. In addition to the 6.6-inch LCD, there is a 90Hz refresh rate.
The notch on top of the screen also holds another surprise: The phone comes with a sharp 12-megapixel selfie camera instead of the usual 8-megapixel camera found on most smartphones today.
On the phone’s back panel, two large circles highlight the design. The top one houses the 48-megapixel primary camera, while the one on the bottom houses a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel LED flash, which is integrated with the camera on top.
It has a large 5,000mAh battery behind the phone’s back panel, which includes a 33W fast charger and a battery.
In addition to running on the ColorOS 12 user interface, which is based on Android 12. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and 5G connectivity.
According to OPPO, the OPPO A97 has a price of ¥2,099 (approximately ₱17,600) in China. A pre-order is now available for this product, which will be distributed starting July 15.
