Google just announced that handles like you see on Twitter and Instagram will soon be available for YouTube channels. This will allow YouTube channel owners to choose a unique handle so that they can promote their channel and also it is easy to find.
YouTube will slowly give access to handles over the next week so that channels can choose a unique @handle (ex. @manilashakerph). If your channel doesn’t have a unique @handle by November 14, YouTube will assign handles automatically based on their name but don’t worry because owners can still change it. If a channel already has a customized URL, it will become its default handle. However, they can choose to alter their channel’s handle as soon as they receive the notification in YouTube Studio. The number of subscribers a channel has, its overall YouTube presence, and whether it is active or not all affect when a creator will have access to the handles selection process.
YouTube will create a matching URL (ex:youtube.com/@manilashakerph) so that content creators can easily direct viewers to their channel if they are streaming via other platforms.
