Donning Samsung’s 2020 flagship chipset Exynos 980, Vivo X30 and X30 Pro 5G goes official in China. Both phones will be available starting December 24 with the following prices:
The rumored 12GB RAM version isn’t included during the launch. That said, 8GB is still plenty by today’s standard. However, the 90Hz screen refresh rate has been proven to be a false rumor.

The X30 Series features a 6.44″ Super AMOLED with HDR that supports 800 nits of typical brightness, contrary to the 6.89″ of the pro model. Running Android 9 Pie, the new version of Funtouch 10, however, brings new design, optimization, and more features. Vivo is pairing the Exynos 980 with UFS 2.1 storage instead of the faster 3.0 version.
On the flip end, the cameras are jam-packed. The X30 standard model comes with 64MP f1.8 sensor with OIS support. There’s a 32MP f2.0 telephoto that delivers 2x optical zoom and an 8MP f2.2 for ultrawide. As for the X30 Pro 5G, it adds a 13MP f3.0 periscope lens to deliver up to 5x optical zoom with OIS. For the selfie camera, the 32MP f2.4 sensor is housed within a pinhole design on the top-right corner of the display.
Instead of the previously reported 4500mAh battery, the capacity is dropped down to 4350mAh. The good news, though, is that it supports 33W fast charging. For the rest, there’s an under-screen fingerprint scanner and audio jack.
Vivo’s X series is usually reserved for the Chinese market. So, it’s highly unlikely for other countries, including the Philippines, to receive an official release date.
