Tesla has begun rolling out the FSD (Full Self-Driving) v12.5.1 update to select vehicles, promising significant advancements in its autonomous driving technology. This update integrates urban and highway driving capabilities, which were previously managed separately.
The update, associated with software version 2024.20.15, represents a significant step forward in Tesla’s development of autonomous driving technology. Elon Musk has expressed confidence that this update will reduce the need for driver interventions per mile.
Additionally, the upcoming “Actual Smart Summon” feature will debut in this version, functioning independently from the main FSD system.
Currently, the rollout is focused on Model Y vehicles equipped with HW4 hardware, but Tesla aims to broaden the FSD v12.5 compatibility to include more models in the future.
