Samsung announces the new addition to its Galaxy Tab lineup — meet the Galaxy A7 Lite, a compact, on-the-go tablet that aims to meet the ‘daily needs of consumers.” Samsung Philippines will start selling the tablet on June 18 for ₱9490 SRP. The A7 Lite will come in Gray and Silver colors.
Given the affordable price tag of the Galaxy A7 Lite, the shell won’t win it any awards, but the bezels around the display make it easier to use the tablet, regardless of orientation. Samsung packed a dual-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos technology for a better movie and gaming experience.
Samsung did not state whether it’s selling either 3/32GB or 4/64GB, but both models come with a MicroSD slot that can accept up to 1TB. Hopefully, LTE support will be included as well.
As for the rest of the specs, the A7 Lite packs an 8.7″ 1340×800 TFT display and an unnamed octa-core processor (most likely a Snapdragon SoC). An 8MP sensor with autofocus lets you shoot decent photos and videos, while a 2MP sensor captures selfies and videos for meetings. All that is powered by a 5100mAh battery with 15W fast adaptive charging via USB-C.
