Redmi is about to launch a new smartphone on January 8, just a few days from now. Official teasers from Xiaomi Spain and UK revealed the name and main feature of the upcoming handset — Redmi Note 9T 5G. As of writing, there’s not a lot to talk about the specs as limited information was known to the public. However, a Geekbench listing shows what to expect in terms of performance.
Apparently, the Redmi Note 9T is carrying Dimensity 800U that enables 5G for cheap. The chipset gets paired with 4GB RAM, with no indication of a specific storage capacity. However, the device still runs on the Android 10 version.
Design-wise, the Redmi Note 9T has a similar design to the Redmi Note 9 5G, which means it gets the same rounded camera module on the back. The main difference, however, is the use of three sensors instead of four. Speculations suggest that the main camera will use a 48MP sensor, though.
Perhaps from that information alone, the Redmi Note 9T isn’t beating the likes of the Redmi Note 9 5G, aka Mi 10T Lite for other countries. With the latter device already retailing for €279(~Php16,000), we might see the upcoming handset to get a lower price tag once it debuts.
