Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 9 series in Malaysia today — the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C, starting at RM359(~P4,100) and RM429(~P4,900), respectively. The 9A will be available on Lazada’s 7.7 Mega Sale, with the 9C at the end of July. We’re not sure yet whether it’s the same for the Xiaomi Philippines, but for now, here’s what the two entry-level phones have to offer.
The Redmi 9C features 13MP AI triple camera, 6.53″ HD+ IPS LCD with a teardrop notch, 5000mAh battery, and Helio G35 chipset. It’s also the only phone with a fingerprint scanner on the back. On the other end, Redmi 9A offers the same value but with Helio G25 chipset. Furthermore, there’s no capacitive scanner, so you’re left with face unlock through image recognition.
Interestingly, Xiaomi has not announced the complete specifications of the phones, so we’re not sure if fast charging is supported, much like the Redmi 8A.
