You may have noticed that the title of this article is all about battery and charging. That is because Redmi 8A Pro which just launched in Indonesia is all about 5000mAh and fast charging for IDR 1549000(~P4,700) only. Clearly, it’s a budget phone for users who want to last longer in a single charge. But for the rest of the specs, some are quite interesting.
Redmi 8A Pro, aka Redmi 8A Dual, has a 6.22″ HD+ IPS LCD featuring a Dot Drop notch with Gorilla Glass 5. The back is made of polycarbonate but features Aura XGrip design which improves grip when holding the device. Furthermore, Xiaomi adds splash resistance that’s becoming a trend in budget smartphones. The innards of Redmi 8A Pro isn’t something to write about, as it features Snapdragon 439 with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The same goes for the 13MP + 2MP dual cameras and 8MP selfie camera. On the flip end, the large battery charges via USB-C at 18W.
Redmi 8A Pro is expected to go on sale in Indonesia later this month. But if you can’t wait for that, the device is already launched in India as Redmi 8A Dual.
