After almost a month of PhilHealth data breach attack by Medusa ransomware, PhilHealth announced their benefit packages for high-risk pneumonia from PHP32,000, now up by 181% at PHP90,100, and ischemic stroke from PHP28,000, now up by 171% at PHP76,000, and lastly hemorrhagic stroke package increased 111% from PHP38,000 to PHP80,000.
PhilHealth president and chief executive officer, Emmanuel Ledesma Jr., stated that the above-mentioned packages are the ones that are usually availed of by Filipinos.
CEO Ledesma also mentioned plans to improve benefit packages, including outpatient treatment for severe acute malnutrition and enhancements to Z benefit packages.
These enhancements will cover conditions like breast cancer, prostate cancer, cervical cancer, and open-heart surgery for children.
Not only that, but PhilHealth also recently launched its outpatient mental health package. Definitely good news!
A general mental health service package can be availed of for PHP9,000, while a specialty mental health service package costs PHP16,000 per person annually.
Now, with PhilHealth aiming to broaden the options for outpatient medications, the insurance corporation has announced its plans to release the guidelines for implementing the outpatient drug benefit under PhilHealth GAMOT.
This package involves extending the coverage from the initial 21 medications included in the Konsulta program to an additional 32 commonly prescribed outpatient medicines.
