PhilHealth Database to Remove Approximately 5 Million Deceased Members

Emmanuel Ledesma, Jr., the President and CEO of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), revealed that their database contains records of around five million deceased individuals. Despite providing health coverage to 92% of Filipinos, PhilHealth is grappling with the task of cleansing its database.

During a Senate Committee on Science and Technology probe on cyber security, Ledesma acknowledged the issue, emphasizing the necessity of database cleanup.

He expressed concern that the records of around 4-5 million deceased members are yet to be removed from the system. To address this, he has sought assistance from the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
