We have always looked at OPPO and its smartphones with admiration, because the brand has always been able to come up with something good from its products, both in terms of innovation and in purely aesthetic and constructive terms.
The formula for the Reno Pro models has been pretty simple so far – sleek bodies with curved screens and fast charging. While the charging bit is still the same for the brand new OPPO Reno 7 Pro, OPPO has decided to change the design. This new smartphone also features a new chipset, improved camera sensors and stereo speakers, making it a pretty decent upgrade over the Reno 6 Pro.
OPPO has put forward this superior design for Reno7 Pro 5G in Startrails Blue by etching more than 1.2 million micro lines at an engraving depth of 8 μm on the back cover. This is the first in the smartphone design industry to adopt this technology. The sparkling power of microcrystals can be seen, and the carving of the micronized strands inspired by the meteor shower. The finish is nice and doesn’t attract fingerprints.
The bezels around the screen are also very slim and with the small punch-hole cutout, the Reno 7 Pro catches the eye from the front. Personally, I applaud this design choice as I prefer a screen with flat edges over curved ones, which tends to make tapping and swiping a bit difficult.
Another distinctive feature to Reno7 Pro 5G that makes the design unique from other mobile phones is Orbit Breathing Light. It uses hot-curved fiber optic technology. The light around the camera module illuminates when there is a notification, an incoming call, or while the battery is being charged. It looks as beautiful as the universe.
Let’s take a look at the front camera of Reno 7 Pro 5G. It comes with a 32MP resolution that has an aperture of f/2.4, with the world’s first to use the flagship front camera sensor, the Sony IMX709.
Combining OPPO’s proprietary Quadra Binning Algorithm and the new RGBW sensor, the IMX709 captures up to 60% more light and reduces noise by 35% more than the standard RGGB1 sensor.
It is also the first front-facing camera to feature DOL-HDR, a technology that captures overexposure in brightly lit areas, while being able to capture every detail even in low light or in low-light conditions.
It also works with an intelligent wide-angle lens that, when taking a group photo, the IMX709 sensor can identify the number of faces, and can automatically adjust the angle to be wider.
The OPPO Reno 7 Pro features a new SoC, the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max 5G. It’s basically a standard Dimensity 1200 SoC with two specific optimizations for the Reno 7 Pro: Al Deblur, which aims to improve the quality of selfies, and Al-PQ, which aims to produce an HDR-like effect in regular videos.
It can be said that the camera of the OPPO Reno 7 Pro is really well made as The Portrait Expert, especially the front camera sensor IMX709, plus a special laser design with more than 1.2 million micro-line engravings on the back cover that creates a meteor-like aesthetic.
Also, the performance of the flagship-quality MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max chipset that supports 5G connectivity. All of these unique features makes the Reno7 Pro 5G a smartphone worth buying this 2022.
