According to Bloomberg, it has been revealed that both YouTube and Spotify have no plans to offer dedicated apps for the new Vision Pro headset.
YouTube explicitly stated that it won’t be developing a YouTube Vision Pro app and won’t allow the iPad app to run on the device. Similarly, Spotify is not working on an app for Vision Pro and won’t allow the Spotify iPad app on the Vision Pro App Store.
Additionally, Netflix has also confirmed that no dedicated app will be developed for Vision Pro.
So how will users be able to use these apps? Users of Vision Pro will have to access YouTube and Spotify through Safari, similar to Netflix.
Interestingly, while iPad apps can run on Vision Pro seamlessly, YouTube and Netflix customers might find the experience less thrilling compared to apps designed specifically for Vision Pro, such as Disney+.

Not only that, but a survey by MacStories found no signs of popular apps like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Amazon, Google, and Gmail. While iPad apps are available by default, developers can choose to opt out of having their apps on Vision Pro.
Pre-orders for the Vision Pro start on January 19 at 9 PM PHT, with the launch scheduled for Friday, February 2.
Are you excited about the Vision Pro launch? Which apps do you hope to see on the new headset?
