BlackBerry and TCL’s partnership already ended last year but from the two, a new company has emerged. This will be known as OnwardMobility and they would be selling BlackBerry-branded phones this 2021. This was confirmed by its CEO Peter Franklin.
OnwardMobility will be using the BlackBerry signature hardware keyboard which people would easily recognize. However, the software that they would be using is going to be modern and would support a 5G network.
As of today, there is no definite date on when the company would reveal the first models but they are working hard with Foxconn in developing their flagship devices. The devices would be available sometime this year and would first be launched in North America and Europe and Asia would follow as well.
Onward’s main focus for their BlackBerry phones is security. The company would be setting its foundation on BlackBerry’s decade long background in creating secure communication for corporations.
