LG G7 ThinQ vs Vivo NEX S: Specs Comparison

More and more smartphones that are powered by the Snapdragon 845 are being released. Among these devices are the LG G7 ThinQ and the Vivo NEX S. The LG G7 ThinQ was just released here in the Philippines today. The smartphone boasts of its audio which features a 2-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and a Boombox Speaker. As for the Vivo NEX S, one of its main features is its full-screen display as well as its pop-up camera.

Unlike the LG G7 ThinQ, the Vivo NEX S is yet to come here in the Philippines. With the two sporting the same chipset, which of them is worth buying more? Let’s find out here.

The Vivo NEX S features a larger screen with 6.59-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2316 pixels and an 86.0% screen-to-body ratio which makes it a borderless smartphone. On the other hand, the LG G7 ThinQ arrived in a 6.1″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Unlike the Vivo NEX S, the LG smartphone is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Although the Vivo NEX S has a larger screen than the LG G7 ThinQ, the latter offers a better resolution.

Under the hood, the two has a lot of similarities. Both seem to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 as well as have an Adreno 630 GPU. They differ in terms of storage. The Vivo NEX S offers larger storage options with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the LG G7 ThinQ has 4/6GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64/128GB of internal storage. As for their operating system, the Vivo NEX S has the higher one with Android 8.1 Oreo whereas the LG device runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.

In terms of their camera setup, the two smartphones feature dual rear lenses. The LG G7 ThinQ sports a dual 16MP + 16MP rear camera whereas the Vivo NEX S only sports a 12MP + 5MP dual main camera. Both devices sport an 8MP front camera, with the Vivo NEX S having a pop-up one. According to their specs, the LG G7 ThinQ shoud heave the better camera although we would have to do a camera comparison between the two to know for sure.

As for battery, the Vivo NEX S has the bigger battery with 4000mAh whereas the LG G7 ThinQ has a 3000mAh battery. Both has a Type-C connector and are supported by Fast charging. Another difference between the two are their fingerprint sensors where the LG G7 ThinQ has a rear mounted one and the Vivo NEX S has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
