Lenovo has unveiled the next generation of Legion and Lenovo LOQ devices, designed to handle the heavy demands of AAA games while managing overheating issues for improved gameplay.
Lenovo AI Innovation and Thermal Design
The new devices feature AI technology aimed at enhancing power efficiency. Both the Legion and LOQ lines are equipped with the LA AI Core Chips, offering a customizable AI-assisted performance boost for higher FPS and better gaming experiences. Additionally, a new thermal design solution is included to keep the devices cool during extended gaming sessions.
In partnership with Intel, it has developed the Legion Coldfront Hyper thermal solution, exclusive to the Legion 7i and Legion 5i. This system optimizes heat management by transforming airflow within the chassis, channeling hot air from the chips through a central hyperbaric chamber, and isolating hot air from cool air drawn in by dual fans. This setup results in cooler temperatures and higher frame rates during gaming sessions.
Lenovo LOQ: Entry-Level Gaming
Lenovo’s entry-level gaming line, LOQ, also received an upgrade. These devices feature hyperchamber thermal technology that can draw out up to an additional 25W of power in Extreme Mode while maintaining skin temperatures up to 2°C cooler. Fan noise is also reduced by up to 2dB compared to the previous generation, enhancing processor performance.
Lenovo Legion Gen 9: High Performance
The Legion Gen 9 series includes the Legion 9i, Legion 7i, Legion 5i, Legion Pro 7i, and Legion Pro 5i. These devices feature 14th Gen Intel® Core™ processors and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ graphics for strong processing power. Each device comes with a 16-inch PureSight display, up to 64GB of memory, and up to 2TB of Gen4 PCIe storage on select models. Battery capacities range from 80Whr for the Legion 5i and Legion Pro 5i to 99.99Whr for the Legion 9i, Legion 7i, and Legion Pro 7i.
Lenovo LOQ Gen 9: Beginner’s Choice
The LOQ Gen 9 devices, including the LOQ 15IRX9 and LOQ 15IAX9, are designed for beginner gamers. These devices come with up to a 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i5 processor and up to an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4050 graphics card. The LA1 AI chip powered by the AI Engine+ dynamically tunes the laptop’s power, fan curves, and other settings to maximize performance. The lineup features a 15.6-inch display, up to 32GB of memory, and up to 2TB of Gen4 PCIe storage.
