Instagram has been rolling out improvements this year from Portrait mode to uploading multiple images and videos for IG stories. It seems that the social media platform is not yet done. During Facebook’s annual developer conference, Instagram has announced that they will be bringing in some new features in their platform. Among these features are Video Chat and AR camera.
One of the features that was announced was app integration. Instagram is planning on integrating more apps that can be uploaded directly to the user’s stories or sent to another user. The first two apps that will be integrated in Stories are Spotify and GoPro. The user will be able to include song stickers in their stories that link to the full song in Spotify. They may also send a message containing a song, playlist, or album to others.
As for GoPro, the user may choose a clip in the GoPro app and share it directly in their stories. The sharing is done through the Instagram app so the user doesn’t have to link their GoPro account with Instagram.
The company has also stated that they’ll be adding in some new AR effects. The AR effects includes face filters and those that can be used in your environment. Here is an example of the AR effect.
Another new feature is the Video chat. The video chat can be used with another user or in a group call. Looking at the photo, the expected limit for this feature is up to four people.
Instagram also improved their “Explore” page. The page is now sorted into groups or topics. No longer will the user have to browse for a long time to find a topic that he/she likes.
The GoPro integration is already available. As for Spotify, it will be available to everyone by today. The other features including Video Chat and the new “Explore” page will be coming soon.
