ING Exits Philippine Retail Banking

Only a few months are left until the end of 2022, when ING Philippines plans to depart the local retail banking market. The service was just launched in 2018.

While ING may be leaving the retail banking sector, they have announced they will continue to invest in their wholesale banking business and their globally shared services activities in the country.

There would be no change in the accounts of the Filipino retail customers of the company, the company assured them. All their funds and accounts will remain accessible to them at any time.

More importantly, ING assured their customers that their money would be “safe and secure.”.

Since 1990, ING has provided banking services for companies and institutions in the Philippines. In late 2018, the retail banking section of the company was launched, which currently has 380,000 customers with savings and current accounts, as well as consumers with loans.

Also, ING has more than 3,000 employees; it delivers 24/7 global support services across various areas such as the financial markets, lending services, non-financial risk and compliance, and information technology.

If any changes occur, ING will notify their customers as soon as possible, or anyone can visit their website at www.ing.com.ph to find out more.
