HONOR has introduced two groundbreaking AI features, AI Defocus Eye Protection and AI Deepfake Detection.
This highlights its focus on on-device AI, which processes data directly on the smartphone, offering better control and security for users. Unlike cloud-based AI that relies on remote servers, on-device AI provides personalized services while protecting user privacy.

With the increasing prevalence of nearsightedness due to prolonged screen time, HONOR’s AI Defocus Eye Protection offers a revolutionary solution. This technology simulates defocus glasses on the device’s display, creating controlled defocus in the peripheral vision. This helps slow down the eye elongation process associated with myopia.
Initial tests have shown promising results, with an average reduction of 13 degrees in transient myopia after just 25 minutes of reading. Some users have experienced reductions of up to 75 degrees.
HONOR’s AI Deepfake Detection addresses the growing threat of manipulated content and online scams. This on-device feature examines factors like eye contact, lighting consistency, image clarity, and video playback to detect inconsistencies that are often missed by the human eye. Trained on a vast dataset of videos and images linked to online scams, this AI can screen and compare content in just three seconds. If synthetic or altered content is found, users receive an instant risk warning, protecting them from potential scams.
