The Honor 10 Lite features a dewdrop notch display. With an impressive 90%+ screen-to-body ratio, a 6.21-inch display now fits within a 5.2-inch body, allowing for better viewing experience and a more comfortable grip. Another bonus is that within the settings are plenty of screen calibration tools. Eye Comfort mode, color calibration and more give you control over everything from the screen tone to its emission of blue light, which can interfere with sleep.
Honor 10 Lite has a quite sophisticated design for a mid-range phone. It has a plastic build, 8mm thick and weighs 162g. Its intriguing glass like-back is plastic which might be a downside because it could scratch easily and fingerprints are left when you hold it so you might want to invest in phone case. Crafted in a 3D curved design, it boasts a vibrant and reflective gradient back that comes in either sapphire blue or midnight black. It has a finger sensor at the back.

The upgraded 13MP + 2 MP AI dual cameras4, along with a wide F/1.8 aperture lens, increases the lighting exposure by 50 percent. Its camera app has an AI option whereas when it’s activated, it can recognize the different objects and make optimal adjustments according to different scenarios.
The front camera boasts 24MP AI camera with new AI beauty algorithm that can customize beauty effects based on your age, gender and skin tone, allowing for a stunning yet natural look. In the sample selfies below, the outputs looked quite overly processed.
After taking selfies which took about 3 minutes, it heated already on the camera part. Switching from app to app was smooth. Honor 10 Lite is powered by Hisilicon Kirin 710 (12 nm) with Android 9.0 (Pie); EMUI 9. It can run games on the high setting but is not as smooth as it should be. It has memory specs of microSD, up to 512 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) and Internal memory of 64/128 GB, 6 GB RAM or 64 GB, 4 GB RAM It was also observed that after 1 game of Mobile Legends, from 98% it easily drained and went to 73%. I wasn’t sure if there were apps running on the background but I don’t recall opening any app before playing. Overall, I had a fair experience in this unit.
Using the following benchmarking tools, we tested the Honor 10 Lite and here are the results:
Device | Geekbench(single core; multi-core) | AnTuTu |
Honor 10 Lite | 909; 3474 | 138.500 |
Honor 10 Lite is packed with a battery pack of 3400 mAh. On a 100% I was able to use it for about 4 hours with continuous browsing and 2 rounds of the heavy game. I left it to charge and it took 2.5-3 hours for it to fully charge. I wasn’t satisfied with its battery but its a mid range phone so we shouldn’t expect more. It carries Micro USB port.
Honor 10 Lite’s audio was a bit disappointing. The audio distorted when played on max volume in a closed room. Its sound resembles first Android phones with a hint of bass. It was loud enough but it wasn’t as rich as it is supposed to be like its co-mid rangers should be.
It performed fair on our test but at its price point, it lacks on performance and battery life aspect. You can get the same specs at 3/4s of its price. But it has lots of storage for the price, a decent camera, and undeniably classy design. The Honor 10 Lite is priced at PHP 10,550.00 for the 4GB + 64GB model, PHP 12,795.00 for the 6GB + 64GB, and PHP 14,300.00 for the 6GB + 128GB. Honor 10 Lite will be launched on Jan 22 and available from Honor roadshow in SM North EDSA on Jan 26.
