With the Spark 9, TECNO Mobile brings another big, affordable smartphone to the market.
With a display packed with features, the TECNO Spark 9 is no different from its predecessors. In addition to its 6.6-inch screen, it has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate for a better response time. Because it remains a budget device, it uses an LCD panel and has a resolution of only HD+ pixels.
A 13-megapixel primary camera and an unknown second camera, which could only be an AI sensor, make up the dual-camera setup on the back. Above the screen, a waterdrop notch holds the primary 8-megapixel camera. Additionally, a fingerprint scanner is mounted at the rear of the panel.
Powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 octa-core processor, it’s a gaming-centric entry-level device. There are three RAM options: 3GB, 4GB, or 6GB, and 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage.
There is a 5,000mAh battery on the device, which is pretty standard for devices at this price point. Despite this, it still charges via micro-USB rather than USB Type-C.
Based on the Android 12 operating system, TECNO Mobile features its HiOS 8.6 interface.
On July 23, the TECNO Spark 9 will be available in India for a starting price of ₹9,499 (roughly ₱6,700). It has not yet been confirmed if it will be available in the Philippines.
