A couple gave up their child so they could buy the newest iPhone and make Instagram posts.
Local Indian media reported that the police said the Indian couple’s 8-month-old baby went missing one weekend, but they didn’t think to call the police or look for their child.
When their neighbors saw the parents traveling and making IG reels with a brand-new Apple product, they became suspicious.
When asked where their baby was, they said they had sold him or her.
People in the area told the police right away.
After being questioned, the mother admitted to the crime and said that she and her husband planned to use the money to take trips across the state so they could take photos for their Instagram reels.
The mother was taken into custody, but the father got away from capture and is still at large.
The infant in Khardah has been rescued.
