Atari is back! In the older days, we knew of Atari as one of the most prominent arcade game providers. You’d go to an arcade, it’s impossible not to see one machine without an Atari game in it. Some may be more familiar with the Atari 2600 and the ever so famous Pac-man.
In the present, while Atari is still producing video games and a new game console, Atari is also delving into wearables; a hat respectively with speakers.
Introducing the Speakerhat, it’s speakers in a hat. How many times do I have to say that? It connects to your device via Bluetooth and is able to play music, accept calls, and receive voice commands
“The Atari Speakerhat is designed to be ultra-thin and lightweight. The technology inside consists of proprietary high-fidelity stereo speakers and microphone, V 4.1 CSR/Qualcomm® cVc™ audio technology, 5-band EQ, Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP v1.4) and Headset Profile (HSP v1.2), rechargeable lithium Ion battery, universal control button, and LED indicator light.”
While the Spekerhat will provide you good quality output, one thing I’m curious about this wearable device is the positioning of the speakers. The speakers are placed in front of the cap, the design is like blasting sound in your eyes.
The Speakerhat is not yet available on the market and is currently looking for beta testers. A new way being loud and forcing your music preference to others is on its way. Just imagine sitting next to someone using this in public transportation. UGH!
