DITO Hopes to Have 10 Million Users This Year

The third player in the mobile industry has changed its goal to 10 million users by the end of the year. This is because the SIM registration took away almost half of its customers.

Evelyn Jimenez, the chief commercial officer for DITO Telecommunity Corp., told reporters that the company lost more than seven million users because of the SIM registration. Out of a stated base of 14.96 million, only 7.74 million people signed up for SIM cards.

Even so, DITO wants to get back on track by getting up to 10 million members by the end of 2023. They are sure that the new customers will stick around.

As expected, the SIM registration has caused DITO’s average revenue per user (ARPU) to grow by a third. Based on figures, Jimenez said that the average revenue per user for the prepaid segment has gone up to at least PHP107 from around HPP80 a year ago.

This year, DITO wants to have an ARPU of PHP125. It plans to do this by removing inactive subscribers from its income count through SIM registration.

Jimenez said that for the rest of 2023, DITO will launch a number of goods and services that will help the company get more customers and make more money.

Jimenez says that DITO will start offering enterprise services by the end of the year. The company wants micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) to be its users.

In the same way, DITO wants to sign up as many as 50,000 prepaid customers by 2023. Since its launch in July, the company’s postpaid internet, DITO Home Unli 5G, has been signed up for by about 30,000 people.
